For the past eight years, Marlen Jewelers has continued to support the Christ Child Society, a donation-based local organization that supports over 7,400 needy children through 125 social service agencies. Marlen Jewelers donated items for their 60th Annual Starlight Ball,which raises funds to support these ] children in Cleveland-area shelters. The event's jewelry raffle is extremely popular and this year Marlen's presented a beautiful Hearts On Fire "fulfillment" diamond necklace, valued at $8990.00, and two gorgeous Pandora bracelets.
Proceeds from the auction fund Christ Child Society programs which include clothing for needy newborns, school uniforms, winter coats and hats, cribs and beds. The funding also enables them to operate and staff two libraries at St. Francis and West Park Academy and two literacy enrichment programs at Parmadale and Merrick House.
Hosted at the Renaissance Hotel in downtown Cleveland, The Starlight Ball is the major annual fundraiser for the organization. Celebrating 95 years of service to the community this year, the Cleveland chapter is one of the oldest in the organization.
